Saturday and Summer Workshops at Rio Beach 2010

*Saturday May 1^st Coffee or Tea

Come to the art studio and paint a set of mugs to give Mom for Mothers day. We will also be decorating a gift bag. Fired mugs will be available for pick up on Friday May 7^th, presented in your decorated bag with an assortment of coffee and teas included . This is a mixed age workshop from 9:00 to 12:30pm, Tea and Sandwiches included - $75.00

*Friday April 23^rd In honor of EARTH DAY

Join Earl and I at the Art studio and create a Super Hero to save our world. We will use ink and watercolors to enhance our charter, to finish off this workshop we will chat about all the good things around us and EAT PIZZA. This is a mixed age workshop 4:00 to 6:30 pm - $45.00

*Tuesday June 15^th Super Hero Dad

If you missed superhero’s for earth day, join us now for Superhero DAD. Please bring in a photo of dads face that we can cut out. His face will be applied to the real super hero. Hero paintings will be done in acrylics on canvas board to create a lifelong master piece for our special dad. This is a mixed age workshop 1:00 to 4:00pm includes a simple snack $60.00

**June Art Camp at Pigeon Point light house June 21^st to 25^th $575.00 1 week

This is a weeklong over night event especially designed for the 12 year PLUS Art Student. A daily ink and water color journal of beach combing and detail sketches of surrounding rocks and sea life. A Large canvas painting of Pigeon Point Light House will be our main focus for the week. Please ask for the information packet on daily activities and meal plan. Payment due at sign up. - $575.00

*July Art camp: Life at the Beach July 6^th to 9^th 9:00am to 1:00pm 4 ½ to 9 years old

$ 225.00 4 days

Day 1: In the studio we will design and begin painting the canvases for our very own director’s chair.

Lunch will be Almond Butter Sandwiches, Fruit and Veggie Platter and Popsicles

A beach walk to gather beach treasure.

Day 2: Paint our director chair frames and add gems if you desire. Then a beach walk to gather more beach treasure, feathers, shells etc.

Lunch will be homemade Chicken Noodle Soup, Popcorn, and Gummy Bears.

Put together our chairs and begin our wall hanging from our treasures.

Day 3: Paint wooden sea life to add to our wall hangings.

Lunch will be Cheese Pizza, Salad and Cup Cakes

A beach walk to the cement ship and drawing.

Day 4: Paint a picture of the cement ship on canvas with acrylic paints in the studio.

Lunch will be Turkey Sandwich Roll Ups and French Fries.

To finish up, art students will decorate sea star cookies to share with family and friends.

*July Art Camp: Pallet to Palate Pairing Art and Food

July 12 to 16^th 9:00am to 3:00pm 9 years & up $350.00 1 week

Day 1: FRANCE: Each student will paint a canvas in the French Impressionism Style of Degas.

Food pairing: Croque Monsieur, Mix field green salad. Sparkling Cider and Pastries

Day 2: ITALY: Each student will paint a Paper Mache box in the Italian Renaissance style of Raphael.

Food pairing: Cheese Raviolis, Asparagus, garlic bread and Decaf espresso, Biscotti and Tiramisu

Day 3: HOLLAND: Each student will paint on paper with tempera paint in the post Impressionism style of Van Gogh.

Food pairing: Traditional Amsterdam Mustard soup, a cheese board, fresh fruits and breads, chocolates

Day 4: CHINA: Each student will paint on silk with Ink in the style of Chinese silk painter Tang Yin

Food pairing: chicken stir fry with vegetables and rice, Tea and fortune cookies

Day5: MEXICO: Each student will paint a canvas board in the Modern era of Diego Rivera

Food pairing: Soft meat tacos, chip, salsa and Fruit Smoothies

July Art Camp: Step back in time July 19 to 22 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

4 1/2 to 8 years 4 days $215.00

In this studio camp we will make stage quality items representing a princess or knight.

Day 1: we will all design and construct the perfect crown for us to wear. Includes metallic paint and jewels.

Lunch will be, Roasted chicken legs, new potatoes, carrots and sparkling cider

Day 2: we will make beaded necklace with a large monogrammed medallion. Then we will paint a plate to be fired with

your royal seal design for your enjoyment at home (to be picked up at a later date)

Lunch will be, Mini hot dogs in a bun, apple and orange slices, Almonds and raisins

Day 3: We will create a coat of arms shield. Materials are cardboard and plaster wrap, paint and gems.

PLEASE bring in a fancy shirt or creative costume to class on this day and we will take a crowned Photo of you.

Lunch will be Almond butter sandwiches, fruit and Yogurt smoothies

Day 4: We will paint and jewel 8x10 picture frames and then mount our photos for a keepsake memory.

If we have time perhaps a walk to the cement ship to show off our stage wear.

Please be sure to let us know about food allergies at sign up….I really don’t mind having to make adjustments to our menus. Bottled water and little snacks also will be available at all camps.

All workshops and camps are all inclusive and a deposit of 50% is due at sign up. Cancelations prior to 30 days of the event are 100% refundable or transferable. 15 days ½ refundable or transferable, after that no refunds, but can be transferred to a friend or family member. This does not apply to the Pigeon Point Camp – No Refunds.
